We learned the expression: "J'aimerais" (I would like) and "Ça sent bon" (it smells good!) and you got to practice by communicating with some Francophones selling you crêpes!
You also learned about the superlative: main notes from today under the cut. You will be asked to used superlatives in your final collection (group project.)
The rest of the class you worked on your mini collection (peer editing, asking for help, finishing your drawings)
Your presentations are tomorrow! You will be presenting to me in the hallway for a speaking mark. You will also be handing in your Communication Competency self-reflection of the week at the end of class.
Devoirs: Duolingo
**Remember that Quizlet is a good resource! You can put your whole script in (a sentence on each flashcard) to help you practice your speaking** + review past speaking assessments! What are some things you need to work on? (French R, Final consonants, Expression... etc.!)
What is the superlative?
-> when your talking about something being the most... or the least... (also, the best/worst)
(prettiest, newest, least expensive, oldest.. etc)
What are the 3 parts?
-> le/la/les (definite article), plus/moins (superlative part), adjective
(e.g. le plus joli -> the prettiest)
The two special forms are...
-> plus bon becomes meilleur(e)(s)
-> plus mauvais becomes pire(s)
I can put the superlative before or after only if it's a part of BAGS(O), otherwise it goes after.
e.g.
1. the prettiest skirt
2. the least fashionable skirt
1. la plus jolie jupe / la jupe la plus jolie
2. la jupe la moins chic
More questions:
3. the biggest scarf
4. the ugliest boots
5. the youngest model
6. the least expensive t-shirt
ANS:
3. la plus grande écharpe / l'écharpe la plus grande
4. les bottes les plus moches (laides)
5. le plus jeune mannequin / le mannequin le plus jeune
6. le t-shirt le moins cher
