1 - You presented your A/B convo piece from last day

2 - We continued the Personal and Social Core Competency! 
Today we looked at Personal Awarenesss and Responsibility
Format:
1. Pensez-Parlez-Partagez: "If you had to tell a FR8 student how to succeed in FR9 what would you tell them" (Reflect on own, discuss, share - all speaking, nothing written down.) 
2. Self-reflection question: "How are you progressing as a learner (in French class)? How can you use your strengths (things you are good at)* to improve?"
*does not necessarily have to be French related! (e.g. organization, social interactions... etc) 

3- You played Battleship to practice Passé composé (avoir) regular and irregular verbs. QUIZ ON THESE TOMORROW

Today we looked at Personal and Cultural Identity
Format:
1. Pensez-Parlez-Partagez: "How does growing up in a Francophone place (Québec, France, Mali) influence a person- who they are?" (Reflect on own, discuss, share - all speaking, nothing written down.) 
2. Self-reflection question: "How have your experiences, family history, heritage and/or peers helped shape who you are today?"
- We then did an A/B conversation piece practicing the passé composé/listening/speaking skills 



You will be presenting these tomorrow for the class.

Aujourd'hui

Ouf! Il faisait chaud aujourd'hui!

1. 10 minutes - Duolingo/Study
2. Quiz (passé composé - avoir, regular verbs)
3. Watched a short film (un court métrage) and gave opinions. We practiced more "spontaneous" interactions by reacting to what your partner said. You then gave a star rating "Je donne 4 étoiles à ce film" and a reason why POURQUOIIII??
4. We watched the bande-annonce for "Bon Cop Bad Cop" and read a review of the movie + multiple choice questions.

There will be a reading test on TUESDAY, so please study your notes for vocabulary.

Today we did a matching activity: FR movie critiques (sentences) to ENG translations. -I am unable to post it here, but extra copies of this sheet are in the black box by the window. 

We watched a number of different trailers and gave our opinion! (Choosing from the list on the worksheet)

You then had time to complete your Core Competency (Thinking) activity, as well as do your Duolingo/review vocabulary on Quizlet.

Remember: no Duolingo on Monday!

Défilé de mode!

Today you had your fashion show presentations! You completed a little listening/writing activity during the presentations.

Because it was a flex day, there wasn't time to do the writing test. Please study and practice using the vocabulary/grammar rules again tonight in preparation for your test tomorrow. I will show you 4 outfits, you will write about 2 of them. Vocabulary sheet will be provided (see info on previous post about what will be included)

I will also be checking to see that you have 1 Thinking competency reflection done (either creative OR critical.)

** After the défilé de mode on LUNDI you will be doing a final writing assessment (to show me all of your skills!!) I will be projecting 2 images for you, and you will write about 1. I will provide a vocabulary sheet (so you do not need to memorize all of the m/f/pl of clothing) however, I will only be providing the masculine forms of the adjectives, so you will need to know the feminine/plural forms AND know if it is a part of BAGS(O) or not. **

I will be looking for correct use of...

> ADJ agreement
> Superlative
> Varied vocabulary usage

I will also be seeing that you completed one of the thinking competencies (either critical or creative thinking) on Monday. Note that I will not be collecting these, as you have another week to do the other half!

We watched the Finale of Projet Fashion! It was a great (albeit a little challenging) activity. I gave you some new vocabulary to help, and we paused a lot (pensez-parlez-partagez)

We learned the expression: "J'aimerais" (I would like) and "Ça sent bon" (it smells good!) and you got to practice by communicating with some Francophones selling you crêpes!

You also learned about the superlative: main notes from today under the cut. You will be asked to used superlatives in your final collection (group project.)

The rest of the class you worked on your mini collection (peer editing, asking for help, finishing your drawings)

Your presentations are tomorrow! You will be presenting to me in the hallway for a speaking mark. You will also be handing in your Communication Competency self-reflection of the week at the end of class.

**Remember that Quizlet is a good resource! You can put your whole script in (a sentence on each flashcard) to help you practice your speaking** + review past speaking assessments! What are some things you need to work on? (French R, Final consonants, Expression... etc.!)

- We talked about what that is and looked at some "i" statements. You will have to complete your reflections by the end of this week (Thursday!)

- We did Entrevue Flash

- We went over the answers to the Colinne Michaelis article

- You described your outfits today using new vocabulary

- You were given a few minutes to start a mini-project: this way I can give you a speaking mark + feedback that you can use to help your final project. (Bring colours tomorrow to work on it! It is an in-class assignment)
